Application Forms

Applications can be download or be picked up at the Easthampton Housing Authority office during normal business hours. Completed and signed applications must be mailed or delivered to the Housing Authority office.

State-Aided Public Housing

There are different types of public housing available, including housing for families, elderly persons, and certain persons with disabilities. Supportive housing with assisted living services for elderly and disabled persons and congregate housing may also be available. There is a very small amount of public housing available to single persons. To find out what is available in each community, please contact the Housing Authority.

To be eligible to live in state public housing, a household must typically earn no more than 80 percent of the area median income. Income guidelines vary from year to year and region to region.

To live in state-assisted elderly public housing, an applicant must generally be at least 60 years old. Applicants with disabilities must meet applicable eligibility criteria for state or federal housing for persons with disabilities.

Easthampton Housing Authority family housing includes single-family homes, duplexes, and apartments with a range of bedroom sizes.

Some maintenance services are provided by the Housing Authority. Depending on the development, residents may be responsible for most utility costs and for maintaining the grounds around their homes.

Easthampton Housing Authority operates three Chapter 667 developments offering housing primarily for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

These developments include studio and one-bedroom apartments, community rooms, kitchens, laundry facilities, and shared spaces for resident programs and activities. Utilities and maintenance services are provided by the Housing Authority.

Chapter 689

Special Needs Housing

Housing for eligible families that include a member with special needs.

The Holyoke Street development provides two three-bedroom housing units for low- to moderate-income families that include a household member with special needs.

The building was purchased by the Housing Authority in 1982 and previously served developmentally disabled adults and children. It now also houses the Easthampton Housing Authority administrative office.
